I don’t know what to say.  I don’t know what to write.  There are no words.  Everything was beautiful, incredible, stunning. The colors, the flowers, the sunset, the line of smiling vendors waiting to greet them in the most spectacularly decorated room.  Nothing I can write here can do full justice to this event, can express how deeply grateful we feel.

Mostly, try as I might, I cannot come up with anything to adequately describe the look on their faces as they wed, on a Coronado beach, as the bright orange sun sank into a blue jeweled sea.  Despite the circumstances, they were serene, they were joyful, they were  content to dedicate themselves to each other.  It was life changing, love affirming, for everyone who attended.

The photos of the ceremony and reception were done by the amazing Kristina Chartier,   and Tessa Desharnais, I was able to take a few of Laura getting ready in their ocean villa at the La Valencia  hotel along with Tessa.

To see photos done by Kristina, please visit http://blog.firstcomeslovesd.com/2010/11/13/preview-of-laura-and-bretts-amazing-wedding/ .

The wedding was put together by Amy Vargas of First Comes Love , I can’t say enough about how incredible she is!   Thank you Amy, you are a shining star!  (and of course her husband Ruben, what a dynamic couple you are!)

The flowers were done by the incomparable Lavonne Crawford of Adorations Botanical Artistry who I had the pleasure of working with on a past wedding and who graciously gave of her time and talents.  I mean, look at that bouquet!  Lavonne, I LOVE you!

Laura, you are timeless!

La Valencia Photos

The following photos were taken by my dear friend, Tessa, who I admire immensley, she does all of our family photos and is such a beautiful person and talented photographer.

These last three are the only photos I got of the reception, besides the ones that Paige took, but that is an entirely different post!

The reception was incredible, from the lounge furniture and light up belly bars brought in by Lounge Furniture Rental, the photo booth provided by Party Booths, the cupcakes provided by Cupcakes Squared, the catering provided by San Diego Desserts, (Mark, you are such an example to me of giving and kindness) and Dining Details, the limo provided by the Abbey Catering, the beautiful stationary provided by Pink Star Design, Becks Entertainment was the amazing and big hearted DJ,Agarciaguitar.com who provided the ceremony music, Gayle Oxford who came to the house and did Laura’s nails, Hawizawho did makeup, (incidentally she also did my sister Kacey’s wedding makeup, we feel like she is part of the family, thank you Hawiza!)  The Standard Salon who did a beautiful job on hair and Bob Hoffman Video for filming the whole thing.

I want to extend our thanks to all the people who generously made this wedding possible, and a special thanks to my friend Emily Ingram and her friend Darren Grenia, who, like countless others, upon hearing Brett and Laura’s story  dropped what they were doing and sent out emails, and made phone calls that resulted in a wedding we couldn’t have even dreamed up for ourselves.  To all of you and anyone I have missed on this list, thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, you are all beautiful, incredible, giving people.  Thank you for being a part of this.

One more special thank you, to the women who donated the sparkling cider, and the event tickets, what thoughtful and generous people you are!!

I am in love with hearing about this wedding! I love the colors! Who chose them? They are perfect-so cheerful and hopeful. My favorite picture is the one of Brett and Laura laughing at their reception. It almost made me cry. I can’t wait to hear more about this fun day from you in PERSON!

I knew you’d come up with the perfect thing to write for this blog post. I love you! And I hadn’t even looked at 1/2 of the photos I took at the reception. I was like, “did I take that one”? So happy that there are some they can use. Congrats again for Brett & Laura, such a beautiful couple :)

It was so completely amazing. I can’t describe in words what it was like to be a part of that wedding. Holy Wow. It amazes me to no end that the whole thing was thrown together in a week and there were so many angels that just popped up from all over the place. It showed me over and over how giving strangers can be to someone that they don’t even know. Brett and Laura touched them and they ran to help. I wish that I could take you all back in time to be there and just point out all the emotion and fun that we had. Carrie gave the most amazing toast. I have to admit that laughed and teared up within about 30 seconds of each other. Smooches to Carrie!
